Applied Composite Technologies
(ACT) has come a long way since its inception in the days before masts
made from 'exotic' fibers were allowed by many of the yacht racing rules
and classes. Since then we have developed a comprehensive range of carbon
fiber sections and now ACT rigs can be seen on all manner of boats from
A Class Cats to Maxi ocean racers..
We have spent much time
developing our own unique pressure tooling and manufacturing methodologies
to produce results which are consistent and of high structural integrity
and finish.
Whether you require a bear-bones
'kit mast' or a complete ready-to-go rig, we build to your naval architect's
specifications or you can have our engineers design a complete ground-up
spars and rigging solution tailor made for your boat. We export to any
destination in the world and if you are in Australia, we can personally
deliver, instal and tune your rig.
Also, please keep in mind
that our work is not limited to spars alone: Many of the boats which
sport our rigs also feature our rudder blades and stocks, bowsprits
and canard keels. And even though most our crew come from a boat building
background, we're keen to design and construct just about anything in
advanced composites.
As with any company, we
can only be judged by the work we have done thusfar. Many ACT boats
have been winners in their class and to date, we have not experienced
any gear failure which can be directly attributed to our workmanship
